Breaking: FAMU vs. MVSU Atlanta Game Canceled, Rescheduled for November

Tallahassee, FL — Florida A&M University has announced that its upcoming SWAC contest against Mississippi Valley State, originally scheduled for October 4, 2025 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, has been canceled, rescheduled, and relocated.

According to an official statement from FAMU Athletics, because Mississippi Valley State was designated the home team, the matchup will now be played at Rice-Totten Stadium in Itta Bena, Mississippi, on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 2 p.m.

FAMU officials acknowledged the disappointment the change may cause fans, but stressed the commitment of both universities to “upholding the standards and integrity” of their athletics programs while ensuring a quality game-day experience for student-athletes and supporters. Ticketing updates will be shared through each school’s athletics websites.

Recent Struggles on the Field

The Rattlers enter this shift in the schedule on the heels of a difficult home loss. This past Saturday, FAMU fell 42–14 to Alabama State University at Bragg Memorial Stadium. The defeat highlighted the team’s ongoing struggles, as defensive breakdowns and stalled offensive drives prevented the Rattlers from keeping pace with the Hornets.

Now sitting at 1–3 overall, FAMU will look to regroup in the coming weeks and aim for a turnaround as they prepare for the rescheduled showdown with MVSU in late November.
